We need your help!
The Portland Players is now in its 82nd year of providing quality entertainment to Southern Maine. The core of each season is the theater’s five main stage productions which range from classic plays to musicals and from comedies to serious dramas. We are especially excited to bring you our upcoming season.
The main stage shows are complemented by our Second Season performances including children’s workshops, a comedy night and one-act productions, which explore an even broader range of dramatic spectrum and serves as a forum for the development of up-and-coming actors and directors in the Southern Maine region.
The Portland Players is a community theater. All of our performers are unpaid actors, singers and dancers drawn from the incredible pool of talent in the local community. Much of the work of the theater off of the stage, from ushering and box office operations to building sets, is the work of our many dedicated volunteers. As with most theaters, ticket sales cover only a portion of our costs, and our productions would not be possible without additional financial contributions from community members who value the arts.
The Portland Players is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization.
Sometimes we need furniture and props for shows, or equipment for our office, but right now our building is in need of a facelift, and we're looking for some items that might be taking up space in your basement or garage. Check out the list below, and let us know if you can help out. Plus, your donation may be tax deductible!
- A sofa/couch to replace the one currently in the lobby
- Paint supplies (rollers, brushes, pans, etc.)
